SAT Subject Tests are additional college admission exams in which the students are able to choose which tests they believe will demonstrate their strengths for the colleges to which they are applying. These multiple-choice tests are normally administered on the same days as the SAT exam is offered*, and they are each scored on a scale of 200-800 points. Each exam lasts exactly one hour, so students are able to sign up for up to three Subject Tests to take in one day.
Some universities require or recommend SAT Subject Tests, and even the universities that don’t require the tests still use them to gain more information about their applicants. Students can use these tests to showcase their interests in a future career path or to play to their various strengths. It is most beneficial for students to take the Subject Test(s) of choice right after they have completed the recommended coursework and preparation, a list of which can be found by following this link and selecting the specific pages for each Subject Test.
Note: Not every Subject Test is offered on every test date. Please check here for the 2019 schedule.
